Ahpra and regulated health service advertising
Ahpra and the National Boards' advertising guidance concerns regulated health services. Review the actual advertiser, service, audience and message, including linked material and images. Other obligations may apply at the same time.
The review should consider misleading claims, evidence, expectations of benefit, unnecessary use and the treatment of testimonials. A statement about clinical outcomes is different from a comment solely about communication or customer service. Do not treat every positive comment or every before-and-after image as the same legal category.
NRS helps identify wording and organise review; it does not determine registration, grant professional authority or certify an advertisement. Have the responsible reviewer check the relevant current guidance and retain the decision with the work.
