TGA and therapeutic goods advertising

TGA rules concern therapeutic goods and their promotion. A business may need to consider them alongside regulated health service advertising requirements. The product, claims, presentation and surrounding context matter.

Use the prescription medicine guide for direct and indirect medicine promotion. Changing a brand name to an ingredient is not a general workaround.

For products near the cosmetic boundary, a claim about appearance and a claim about changing physiology can lead to different regulatory questions. Do not classify an entire product from one isolated phrase. Check TGA's cosmetic-or-therapeutic guidance.

Testimonials for therapeutic goods have their own conditions; they are not all governed by an identical blanket ban. See testimonials and images.
